3  Ruler- Determines were they go to war. The king is considered God.  Nobles- knew how to read and write.  Merchants/ artist- made objects to sell. They were very good at trade.  Peasants- gardening and cleaning.  Slaves- Served the nobles. Aztecs

5  Shi- gentry scholar.  Nong- Peasant framers.  Gong- Artisans, craftsmen  Shang- merchants and traders. China

7  Emperor- figure head  Shogun- Powerful military leader  Daimyo- Powerful lords  Samurai- Warriors that served the shogun  Peasants- No power Japan

8 Rome

9  Imperial- highest class.  Senators- served the senate.  Equestrians- In charge of the stables.  Commons- like free people.  Freed people- people that bought freedom.  Slaves- served people. Rome

11  Men- They can go do jobs  Women- They have to wear cloth all around them and only their eyes can show. Islam

12 Middle ages

13  Kings/ Queens- Greatest lords.  Nobles- Vassals to the king.  Knights- Served their nobles  Peasants- Owns no land. Middle ages

15  Kings/Queens- Greatest lords  Nobles- Vassals to the king  Knight- Served their lords  Artisans- Made art to sell  Peasants- Had no power Renaissance

16 Scientific Revolution

17  Church/Kings- Had control of the religion and the towns  Artisans- Made drawings and paintings to sell.  Philosophers- believed in science and also that the solar system is heliocentric.  Peasants- No power. Scientific Revolution
