2 New Vocabulary Volume - Amount of space a 3-D object takes up. ( b x h x w = volume) Mass - The amount of weight something has Density - mass per unit volume ( Density = mass/volume)

3 Question What do you think will happen to a gummy bear soaked in water for 24 hours?

4 Hypothesis Write you educated guess in this part of the lab.

5 Materials Gummy Bear Triple Beam Balance Metric Ruler Calculator Cups Water Data table

6 Procedure 1.Gather Materials and label cup with group name. 2.Measure and record data required by your data table. 3.Calculate volume of day one length x width x height Round to the nearest hundredth in cm cubed

7 Procedure 4. Measure mass in grams using balance. 5. Calculate Density by dividing the mass by the volume. (We will discuss in class) 6. Put 100ml of water into beaker and put bear in beaker. 7. Day 2 Remove bear and place on paper towel.

8 Procedure 8. Repeat all measurements from day one. 9. Calculate and record the changes.
