 Answer some questions What is Scribe?, Why use Scribe? and others.  Learn new terminology.  Learn the basic structure of a letter or report.  Look at some examples in the software.  Questions  After Training

 Scribe is a new.net module that allows the user to create custom letters and reports.  It also provides a batch print function that lets the user print letters and reports in batches with or without filters.  It will also include HUD forms when it is completed.

 Gives more options than either form letters or custom report writer.  Gives the ability to add information at print time.  Works better with the new.net modules.  Allows for the use of standard data sources and the creation and use of custom data sources.  Will include HUD forms.

1) I don’t know how to use it!  Scribe is new, so it will be more difficult in the beginning. 2) How are we going to get Scribe?  Ask. We are working on the implementation schedule for all of our clients, so communicate with us and let us know if you would rather have it sooner or later. 3) What are your question?

 Data Source  Collection of information pulled from the modules in WinTen2 for use in letters and reports.  Fields  An individual piece of information that can be added to a specific place on a letter or report.  Parameters  User defined fields that can query the user who is printing for information to be added to the letter and/or filter the letter at print time.  Calculated Fields  User defined fields that are a combination of one or more fields and/or constants, usually in the form of a formula.

 Header  Agency letterhead would be an example of a header.  Body  The meat or bulk of a letter or report.  Rich Text box will be the most common way of adding the body of a letter and tables would be likely for reports.  Sub-reports might be added to the body of letters reports.  Footer  This could contain the page number with or without the page count, the initials of the user printing the letter or the date.  EOH notices are also used by some agencies.
