2 Before you start! First you need to make sure- Your hair is tied back You are wearing suitable clothes No jewellery No shoes or socks

3 When you first start doing gymnastics training! Make sure you stretch. Do this by doing lunge. Then splits all ways. Pike stretches Straddle stretches Shoulder stretches Back stretches Neck stretches Then warm up- Do this by running up and down the mat Then skipping Hopping Sashays Side sashays Knees up running Kicking your bottom running Toe points

4 Now that you have warmed up you should start doing some skills- Floor- Cartwheels, Handstands, Round-offs, Floor routine Back flips Backward and forward walk over's Beam- Walking on your toes up and down the beam Jumping along the beam, Handstands, Cartwheels, Split jumps and leaps, Dismount and mount Routine Turns on one leg Continued on next page

5 Now you have warmed up, you should start doing skills Vault- Running up and down the vault strip Knees up running Kicking your bottom running Toe points Handsprings Front layouts Front saults Back flips Bars- 10 casts 5 stoop on’s 3 wraparounds Bars routine 10 kips Toe shoots off high bar 10 glide swing Routine again

6 Sometimes, to get stronger, you do strength Floor Dish hold L-hang hold Dish rocks leg lifts V-snaps tuck leg lifts Arch hold Beam- Arch rocks straddle walking Prone legs squats Prone rocks Vault Front support running Rear support knees up Bars kicking bottom Chin-ups toe points Chin-up pullovers chicken walks Skin the cats bunny hops Chin-up hold sprinting

7 Competitions! You need your What to do- Go straight to your coach Hair tied back with hairspray sit down with your coach Wearing your club leotard start warm up when its starts And you club tracksuit then go back to your coach and No jewellery go to your first apparatus Be there 15 minutes before The competition starts You practice your routine first then When you get there go compete. On vault you have to do two Straight to your coach competition routines What you need to wear and how. What you do when competing.

8 Just to let you know! When you do gymnastics your child or you can get some Really bad injuries. That only happens if you don’t do the Properly or there is something wrong with the equipment your using. If something happens the coach Will be there to help, they can always call the Ambulance and if it is just a pain that keeps coming Back when you do gym, you can always go to a physio.
