10 Know Your Audience VIP or any senior level to be addressed? Why they are here? What do they have in common? How big an audience will it be? What do they know, and what do they need to know? Do they expect discussion about a specific subject and, if so, what? What is the audience’s attitude and knowledge about the subject of your talk? What is their attitude toward you as the speaker? Why are they interested in your topic?

11 Know the event Is it formal? Or informal? Any protocol specific to this event?

12 Choose Your Core Message What is the goal of your speech? To inform, persuade, motivate or entertain Only one single idea Too many ideas can lead to confusion among audiences

13 Find information Use facts and figures relevant to the topic Information or the content should be of good quality and that too in right quantity Adding examples, personal experiences, quotes and appropriate humor
