2 Library’s Virtual Presence  Does the school library have: a. A Twitter account b. A Facebook page c. A blog d. A wiki e. Collaborative software (e.g., SharePoint, etc.) f. Wireless internet access for students g. A link from the school website’s homepage directing users to the library’s website/online resources

3 Professional Environment  Does the school library have an advisory committee?  Does someone from the school library staff: a. Meet regularly with the principal and/or other building or district administrators? b. Participate in school committees (e.g., curriculum, technology, PTO, etc.)? c. Provide in-service training for teachers (e.g., information literacy, educational technology, etc.?)

Apply critical thinking skills (problem solving, analysis, logic, cause/effect) when doing research b. Evaluate the credibility of information sources, including the Internet c. Use technologies (e.g., wikis, Google Docs, blogs, YouTube, Delicious, etc.) to organize and share information. d. Use a variety of sources when gathering information about a topic.

7 Examples of databases include:  Newspaper Source and TOPICsearch (both accessible from EBSCOhost)  Middle Search and Primary Search (both accessible from EBSCO’s Searchausaurus)  eLibrary Curriculum Edition and SIRS Researcher (accessible from ProQuest’s eLibrary and SIRS, respectively)

Budget obtained from additional funding sources (donations, fundraising, grants, etc.) 3. For the 2013-14 school year, what is the amount budgeted for: a.
