We will be following a brand new course next year, with the Edexcel Exam board. The AS course is split into 2 units: Unit 1 Creative skills You produce a portfolio with three sections (product investigation, design and manufacture). This will mean tackling three different products. This is assessed by your teachers and is worth 60% of the total AS grade Unit 2 Design & Technology in Practice An exam based on studying materials, processes and how they are used in design and industry This is assessed by an exam in June and is worth 40% of the total AS grade There are 2 further units in Year 13 to complete the full A2 level We also have regular visits to Newcastle, Disneyland and London
