By Melissa Hacke.

A Brief History We have always needed to eat that that has always mad cooking a part of life. Cooking has evolved from an oral tradition to a written tradition and then into a tradition spared through many different media.

Internet Recipes A Google search for the word recipe yields 57,800,000 results. Just imagine with all these result how many cookbooks you would need to own in order to have access to this many recipes. Instead, now every person with access to the Internet can find a recipe for just about anything.Google

Internet Connivance Every five years the KRAFT corporation does a study on what people eat. Today they uses this information on their web site in order to give people quick and easy meal ideas based on the foods they probably already have (Businesswire April, 2001).KRAFT(Businesswire April, 2001). The Internet has also made video tutorials available so people can see how to make things when ever they want.

Not Cooking on the Internet The Internet has even changed the way we eat when we don’t want to cook. There are many companies that now have on-line delivery services and there restaurants that take online reservations

Supplies on the Internet The internet has made baying specialty ingredients and utensil much easier. If you need to buy groceries but cant go to the store many stores such as Safeway offer on- line shopping.Safeway If your looking for something more unique tray a site like www.ethnicgrocer.com. Where you can find just about anything from around the world.www.ethnicgrocer.com

The Internet in the Kitchen The internet is now moving into the kitchen to help with the actual cooking. Bluetooth technology is allowing companies like Whirlpool to create appliances like the Polara® that you can control form anywhere through the internet.Bluetooth Whirlpool

Conclusion As the internet weaves it’s self into our everyday lives it is important that we find a balance. Yes the internet has made cooking easier but to remove the human element completely would change cooking forever.

My Research I did most of my research through the library databases. However when Links were given in articles I was using I went there and looked at the site itself to evaluate it. I also used a site called Findarticles.com to supplement my research I found several very useful articles this way.Findarticles.com

Also When I was looking at the Bluetooth technology I looked at their website to see if it supported my research. I also checked out Whirlpools website to see if the specification on the Polara® where correct.BluetoothWhirlpools

My Thoughts I think that knowing how to use the internet effectively made this assignment much simpler. When I needed to find the articles I knew how to because of earlier assignments. I also knew how to search the different databases to find what I needed. When used properly the internet can be a very effective tool for anything in life.
