Value Proposition Value Wedge
Point out that there are three key points to our value proposition These three points are what differentiate us from the competition and what meets the needs of the customer 1- revolves around the selection software 2- focuses on our new efficient line of Impact pumps 3- we provide the support necessary for the market
4

Impeller Designs used in Wastewater Pumping
Closed, Single Channel Impellers Semi-open, Single Channel Impellers Closed, Multi-channel Impellers Semi-open, Multi-channel Impellers Vortex Type Impellers Screw Type Impellers The small extent to which the true worth of these widely differing pump hydraulic designs have been studied is rather surprising. Suppliers have had great freedom in promoting their products based mainly on subjective and intuitive arguments.
6
Impeller Designs Double Shrouded (Closed)
Conventional Wastewater Impellers Double Shrouded (Closed) Single Channel Multi-Channel

Impeller Designs Conventional Wastewater Impellers
Single Shrouded Types: Chopper Type Vortex / Recessed Type Screw Type

What is clogging anyway?
Clogging is defined as “a partial or full blockage of the pump resulting in from reduced to non-existent flow”. Most clogging instances result in limited flow reductions (i.e.) the pump will still deliver some flow, but not efficiently. The ‘non-clog’ pump was developed to minimize the risk of complete blockage.
9
Obvious solution? Free passage ?
An impeller with largest possible throughlet
10
What causes clogging? It is not caused by large solids
Both laboratory tests and field installations alike show that sewage pump clogging is mainly due to: 1. Rags and stringy materials that get stuck on the impeller vane edge or in the eye of the impeller. 2. Jamming of the impeller / wear ring interface. 3. Full plugging of the volute (Vortex Pumps) It is not caused by large solids
11
Two viable solutions
12
The vortex concept The operating principle: Outside the pump:
A strong vortex is created inside the pump That also extends to the outside Outside the pump: External vortex, gets stronger at lower flows Higher velocity, heavier solids, higher concentrations Not influenced by turbulence in sumps: creates its own storm underneath the pump
13
The self cleaning concept
Value Wedge Cooperation between impeller and relief groove – Stronger together Horizontal and backwards swept leading edge transports solids to the perimeter of the inlet The combined effect of the impeller edge and relief groove passes the solids through the hydraulic
14
Summary impeller technology
Distance to the main Vortex In low volume applications a vortex impeller is the better choice. A vortex impeller is also suitable in media which contains sand and other abrasive solids. 1500 Ft Channel - Self cleaning Self cleaning maintain a high level of pumping efficiency, even in fluids with a high solids and fibrous content. Grinder pumps 600 Ft Self cleaning pumps Vortex pumps 65 GPM 175 GPM 1000+ GPM Flow GPM

Value Proposition to Engineers
Value Wedge Engineers and Design Build Contractors want to recommend and select products that deliver the highest performance at the most economical cost. Install the most efficient system B&G Impact’s unique self-system impeller and casing process solids easily and consume less energy Reduce unplanned maintenance B&G Impact pumps are less prone to clog, handle clogging, thus reduce costly maintenance activities Lower operating costs Hard faced Tungsten carbide seals are 7 times stronger than traditional carbon seals. More reliable leak detection minimizes maintenance activities

Why Specify an Air Filled Motor
Compared to an oil filled motor, an air filled motor has many advantages: Lower power costs because of higher efficiency Operates at a lower temperature Has a longer bearing life Maintenance is easier and less costly No used oil to be disposed of in accordance with EPA regulations No premature failure due to oil leaks No undefined future liabilities due to environmental contamination and explosions
25
Efficiency that can’t be beat!
Higher Efficient system contributes to LEED points Impact MK pumps have efficiencies that are % points better than the competition Energy savings translates to reduced operating costs

Competitors High level comparison of the Impact to its competitors. Help you develop a battle plan! WEIL The double-suction pump is well represented in the HVAC market. The introduction of the VSX pump will be met by some strong and not so strong competitors. But I doubt any of these competitors will be ready to hand over any of their market share. To better prepare you, I will cover the features of the VSX and compare it to what the competition offers.
