3 Viking History John Foster Dulles Junior High was opened in 1965 and became part of Dulles High School in 1975-76. Due to rapid growth in the area, it officially reopened in 1983 as a junior high. The name was officially changed to Dulles Middle School in the fall of 1989, and it serves grades 6 through 8. Our school is centrally located in FBISD and is part of the Dulles complex which also houses a high school, elementary school, and Rodgers Auditorium. Because of the proximity to DHS, several of our students are enrolled in high school courses, such as Spanish, Latin, French, German, and Geometry. The oldest middle school in the district, Dulles is also one of the most ethnically diverse schools in FBISD.

12 Dulles Middle School Library Welcome to the new school year! We are excited to share what's new in our library. We will be rolling out our first fiction eBooks this semester. You can access them anywhere you have an internet connection! We are open from 9:00 a.m. until 3:50 p.m. Monday through Friday. The library is also open to students before school at 8:10 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our mission is to support all DMS students in achieving success in all areas of the curriculum. We strive to develop a love of learning that will remain with our students throughout their lives. Our focus is on the promotion of reading and teaching our students to find information, evaluate it, and utilize it in productive ways. The library program also provides access to thousands of sources from our databases. Students may visit the DMS library to obtain the passwords that allow these sources to be accessed from home.

13 No Place for Hate Campus FBISD strives to provide a safe and civil environment to ensure that all students are successful. Each year every campus develops and implements a Character Education and Cultural Diversity Plan to promote and celebrate diversity. The No Place for Hate program helps us set a standard of respect for diversity and anti-bias efforts in our schools. Dulles High School became the 1 st No Place for Hate campus in Fort Bend ISD in 2001. Since that time, we have 69 campuses who were designated as No Place for Hate campuses this year. Working collaboratively with the Anti-Defamation League has helped us broaden the spectrum of character education in our schools
