3 Axelera in short

4 Where are we ? The cluster has developed its high potential approach combining chemistry and environment at the heart of the area surrounding Lyon (vallée de la Chimie, Domaine Scientifique de la Doua), Grenoble (Pont-de Claix, Jarrie, Université de Grenoble), Saint Etienne and Chambéry. Rhône-Alpes: a region rich in expertise and research undertakings. Rhône-Alpes region: One of France s key economic players - 2 nd most important region in France, 7 th in Europe from an economic point of view, - 1 st chemical production centre in France, - 2 nd region in France in eco-industries sector, - A turnover of 12,3 billions, - 48 000 direct jobs. Some figures... Exceptional potential in research and education - 3 000 researchers, - Approximately 470 patents registered per year, - Approximately 1 300 publications per year, - 1 300 chemicals engineers graduate each year, - 1 350 PhDs in chemistry obtained.

5 Founders and financial partners Axelera was created in 2005 by 3 industrial groups Arkema, Rhodia, GDF SUEZ, a world-class public sector research and training center IFP and a government funded research organization CNRS.
