CIBER Contract Old Information MDE desires to continue to provide the technical services to the districts that they have always performed. MDE will have to decide to either modify and extend the current contract held by CIBER, or Submit a RFP for a new contract to be bid on. Waiting on the opinion of our attorney to determine legally how we should move forward.

STAR SCHOOLS (MIVN) UPDATE INFORMATION The MS Interactive Video Network (MIVN) represents a partnership among Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB), the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE), State Board for Community and Junior Colleges, and Institutions of Higher Learning.

STAR SCHOOLS (MIVN) UPDATE INFORMATION MPB coordinates the delivery of instruction for the K- 12 sites in the Mississippi Interactive Video Network and usage of those sites in conjunction with IHL delivered courses as necessary. K-12 teachers throughout the state deliver a variety of instruction including mathematics, language arts, foreign language, and advanced placement courses.

STAR SCHOOLS (MIVN) UPDATE INFORMATION Concerns Usability of H.320 equipment within MPLS -After June 30 th, 2008, ITS will be removing the old Legacy Backbone. District may have to order a point to point T-1. -Upgrading MIVN Equipment -Unused T-1 MIVN Circuits Create a migration plan -(Distance Learning) classroom coordinator and/or teacher -District Business Manager -Technical Coordinator -CIBER Engineer
