3 Course Selection and Transition Process
March 5th – 8th Grade Parent Night March 24th – Parent Presentation March 31st – Presentation to 8th graders April 3rd – Course requests due April 4th – Counselors meet with students 1 on 1 April - 8th graders visit Souhegan for lunch and advisory Feb. – June – Special Education transition meetings April – June – 504 transition meetings June – 8th grade step-up day

4 Graduation Requirements
English – 4 Credits Math – 3 Credits Science – 3 Credits Social Studies – 3 Credits Wellness – 1 Credit Health .5 Fine Arts .5 Computer Portfolio.5 Advisory 2 Credits (.5 per year) Elective Courses – 4.75

5 Graduation Requirements
Division 1 Exhibition Junior Research Paper Post Graduation Plan Senior Project Community Service – 40 hours minimum 22.25 Total Credits Minimum

7 9th Grade Team Cultural Foundations – English
Cultural Foundations – Social Studies Earth Systems Science Math Approximately 80 students per team Students assigned heterogeneously to teams Team includes counselor and learning specialist Supportive environment Interdisciplinary approach

10 World Language Program

11 Advisory Program Goal – To know students well by implementing the concept of personalization on a daily basis with particular emphasis on helping students to develop a community of learners born of respect, trust, courage. Advisory groups of 10 students meet daily with a staff advisor.

12 Advisory Focus 9th grade – Provide students with a small, supportive community in which they can learn and practice the behaviors and skills needed to become successful, responsible, and involved leaders in the Souhegan community. 10th grade – To reflect on individual growth and identify learning styles based on Division I experience in order to transition to Div. II. Division 1 Exhibition 11th grade – To apply knowledge of himself/herself to their Div. II experience as well as prepare for life after Souhegan. Post Grad Plan 12th grade – To apply his/her identified passions to their culminating experience as they move beyond Souhegan.
