Timing Analysis Spreadsheet for Pre/Post Time Stamped Videos Presented to 2013 IOTA Annual Meeting Brad Timerson, Tony George

Why do this? It became necessary for others to learn these techniques when observations were received and no one was available to do the analysis
Brad Timerson and Tony George worked together using Scottys original spreadsheet as a template to create a new form. We received help from John Talbot on the final product. A Word document describing the procedures is available along with the new spreadsheet. This presentation provides a brief overview of the process.
Basic Steps 1. Download and install AviSynth 2.5 2. Install PlugIn called: DVInfo 3. Create/Receive video file for Pre-, Post-, and Event (the pre- and post- videos are time stamped and have time insertion on them) 4. Create AVS script. 5. Use AVS scripts with LiMovie to get input needed for spreadsheet. 6. Complete spreadsheet
Associate time stamp with UTC Open Pre- video in LiMovie. Find UTC associated with next whole second of the time stamp. Here we incremented video until next second (:21) to get UTC from time inserter (18:26:21.7536). You need the time stamp (06:26:21 PM) and the UTC.
Associate time stamp with UTC Next, open Post- video in LiMovie. Find UTC associated with next whole second of the time stamp. Here we incremented video until next second (:30) to get UTC from time inserter (9:13:31.7897). You need the time stamp (09:13:30 AM) and the UTC.
Analyze Event Video Analyze video to obtain CSV file Get fractional event times (from Occular, for example) Open video in LiMovie. Move to location before the frame. Find frame where time stamp increments to next second. Find frame where time stamp increments to next second. Record time stamp time. Find number of frames from that location until the event.
Location of the D event Occular showed D at frame 284.8 At frame 255, time stamp incremented to next whole second. Record 07:13:30 AM. Next record (284.8 - 255) or 29.8 frames.
Repeat for R event Occular showed R at frame 554.1 At frame 525, time stamp incremented to next whole second. Record 07:13:39 AM. Next record (554.1 - 525) or 29.1 frames.
Spreadsheet Entry Open spreadsheet. Be sure the yellow cell at Step 9 is empty.
Spreadsheet with Entries Last step is to enter value in green cell of Step 9 into the yellow cell for that step.
