4 CONCUSSION TESTING Baseline testing needs to be done for those student-athletes competing on a high school team who have not had one previously  JH students do not need to do a baseline test, but may if parents request it A baseline test is mandatory for those student-athletes involved in high school level “contact” sports  Volleyball, football, basketball, cheer, hockey, soccer, baseball, softball

6 HANDBOOK CHANGES & HIGHLIGHTS Academic Eligibility  Page 5 outlines complete process—please read and refer to this during the year  Process has changed from previous years; main points are below The teaching staff will submit eligibility reports to the Vice-Principal every two weeks—weeks 2, 4, 6, and 8 within each quarter. The teacher will receive the report on Monday and it will be due back to the Vice-Principal by the end of the school day on Tuesday of that same week. If a student is declared ineligible, the student will not be allowed to practice or participate in contests until the teacher(s) of the class(es) in which the student is ineligible signs off on the “Return to Play” form that states that the student is passing or making significant progress toward passing.

7 HANDBOOK CHANGES & HIGHLIGHTS Attendance to Practice  Page 7  Unexcused Absence Change-Detention  Missing practice due to serving detention will be considered an unexcused absence and he/she will not be permitted to participate in the next game/contest. Athletic Gate Fees for Parents Page 10 A Pass List at the gate will allow free admission to parents of students who are a member of the PCS high school team (C/JV/V) that is participating.

8 HANDBOOK CHANGES & HIGHLIGHTS Transportation Page 10  Players who travel to or from out-of-town games using non-school arranged transportation must get written permission from their parent/guardian, coach, and Principal in advance. The Alternate Transportation Form is available online under Athletics/Handbook and Forms.  Students may ride home with parents after game with parent and coach permission.  Students riding home with someone other than their parents requires the Alternate Transportation Form to be turned in to the principal by 9:00 am on the day of the game.  Students riding to the game with anyone, parents/guardians included, requires the Alternate Transportation Form to be turned in to the principal by 9:00 am on the day of the game.

9 FUNDRAISING & DONATIONS Handbook gives complete outline on Page 12 Persons or businesses wishing to contribute to the Park Christian Athletic department may do so in the following ways: 1. Donate to the athletic general fund. 2. Donate to a specific program within the athletic department, i.e. football, track, weight room, etc. 3. Matching funds may also be designated for either the general fund or specific athletic programs.

10 COMMUNICATION Schedules and Schedule Changes  Please refer to the PCS Activities Calendar for game and practice schedules  Sign up to receive changes to the calendar Communicating with Coaches  Page 13  Our coaches welcome positive communication. Please be proactive in discussing concerns with the coach.  Guidelines to help facilitate a positive experience for the student-athlete and coach are listed in the handbook  Please respect the 24 hour rule out of courtesy to all involved
