According to Webster’s Dictionary 2: a recording of a motion picture or television program for playing through a television set b : a videotaped performance of a song often featuring an interpretation of the lyrics through visual images 3 : a recording similar to a videotape but stored in digital form (as on an optical disk or a computer's hard drive)

4. Video vs. Film Video and Film are two totally different mediums for shooting and storing footage for a production. Video stores the image and sound on a single cassette or memory card. Video is portable and cheap.

5. Video vs. Film Film has a rich and vibrant color quality. Film is less tolerant of different light levels. More cumbersome for editing.
