2 © Crown copyright 2009 Objectives To: make connections between developing of HSW skills and their assessment through APP; evaluate how a new Key Stage 3 curriculum allows for gathering evidence for APP assessments; share strategic departmental approaches to the implementation of APP. Slide 2.2

5 © Crown copyright 2009 Task For the allocated assessment focus (AF) thread consider: what opportunities for assessment exist in your revised Key Stage 3 scheme for Year 7; the implications for revision to Years 8 and 9 and accessibility at all levels; particular AFs, or criteria, which could be more challenging and any training issues. Add ideas to the appropriate grid for your designated APP Threads at what your consider to be the appropriate level, as per the example to the right. You can add activities from your Y7 SoW or new activities.

What support do I need and how can I ensure that this is available? What is the main issue I need to address in order to move forward with the implementation of APP? Use the template provided to produce a timeline for implementing APP from now to July 2010. You may like to refer to the handout provided as you work out your next steps. Slide 2.9
