2 Summary of Changes to Award Program Evaluated Nominees will be Recognized as Reaching a Bronze, Silver or Gold (highest) level of Achievement An over-all “Best of the Best” will be identified in each Category. A “Newcomer of the Year” will be chosen among those companies that have never participated or have not been nominated for past three years.

3 Summary of Changes to Award Program (cont.) Companies that won the HBR Safety Excellence Award the year before will serve as Mentors this year and will not be eligible to compete Feedback to all nominees will include element scores of zero and one. New guidelines for Audit Teams and Leaders have been developed Credit will be given for Year-to-Year Improvement in Safety Statistics and for Documenting and Implementing Best Practices

7 Mentor Program: Summary 2005 HBR Award Winners Mentor Nominees and Audited Contractors in the Process Mentors Outside of Own Category  Selected By Random Draw Also Co-Chair In Separate Category  Different From Own and Mentor Category Highest Honor Company Can Achieve  Mentors Not Eligible for 2006 Award

9 Mentor Program: Meetings Category Nominee Group Meeting  All Category Nominees Invited  Two Hours  Before February 1 st  Mix of Strategies and Process Q/A Follow-up Meetings Prior to Field Audit  Per Individual Schedules  Four Hours Total Time Per Finalist May Be Split Based On Needs Prior To Final Review
