4 Overview of The course is concerned with the design and implementation of information systems as well to understand the basic underlying principles of computing The skills required of an information technology specialist include systems analysis, systems design, programming, database design and development, systems, hardware and operating system, and interpersonal communication skills, team skills and management.  This degree has been designed to meet this need, and will produce graduates who are competent and knowledgeable in the discipline, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and who are able to critically analyse business problems and develop creative and innovative enterprise solutions.

BIT was first offered in Sept 2001 and is one of the pioneer programs at OUM A total of 4000 learners had graduated thus far Currently a total of 772 students enrolled locally in this program There are 100 international students enrolled in BIT More than 200 part time tutors involved in conducting the program and dedicated 12 internal lecturers in overseeing the program BIT received full accreditation from MQA in 2004 and it is recognised by JPA

18 Entry Requirements Normal Entry
Passed SPM/SPMV/MCE or equivalent with credit in Mathematics and passed STPM/HSC or equivalent with at least 2 principals (CGPA 2.00); OR Passed a recognized Matriculation / Foundation in relevant field with minimum CGPA 2.0 with credits in Mathematics; OR Passed a recognized Diploma or equivalent in Computer Science / Information Systems / Information Technology / Software Engineering with minimum CGPA 2.5 (CGPA below 2.5 but above 2.0 may be accepted subject to rigorous internal review process); OR Passed any other recognized Diploma with CGPA 2.5 and credit in Mathematics in SPM. OR Flexible Entry Malaysian Citizen AND Be at least 21 years old on 1st of January (application year); AND Passed at least PMR or equivalent; AND Posess prior learning experience and / or knowledge relevant to the programme applied; AND Passed Flexible Entry Assessment;

19 How to Apply? Complete the OUM application form at
Submit 2 sets of certified IC, all academic certificates and transcripts. Processing fee of RM30.00 (Undergraduate programmes) or RM50.00 (Postgraduate programmes) will be debited to student account.
