4 CONCRETE NOUNS  Name of :  Can be seen or touched

5 Examples: i. Finger ii. Foot iii. Hotel iv. Hospitals v. spoon vi. Table vii. Grapes viii. Lemon

6 ABSTRACT NOUNS  Nouns that name a quality or something that cannot be seen or touched.  Example: colour, happiness, pain, beauty, speed, laughter, sleep, and darkness.  Can form abstract nouns from many words. WORD Good Friend Brave Human ABSTRACT NOUNS Goodness Friendship Bravery Humanity

9 COUNTABLE Nouns that we can count. We can use the indefinite article a/an with countable nouns. When a countable noun is singular, we must use a word like a/the/my/this with it. - I want an orange. - Where is my bottle? When a countable noun is plural, we can use it alone. - I want oranges. - bottles can break. COUNTABLE A, an, a few Some, plenty of, a lot of A large number of

10 UNCOUNTABLE Uncountable nouns are those that have only one form and we cannot count them. Siti drink a cup of milk everyday. UNCOUNTABLE a cup of coffee a bottle of water a slice of cake

11 POSSESSIVE NOUNS Possessive nouns are used to show possession (owning, or having). To form the possessive, add ‘s to singular nouns. If the noun is plural not ending in “s”, add ‘s. The sky's color is changing. Syed’sboy’s Children’s Women’s

12 If the noun in plural ending in “s”, add apostrophe (‘) after the “s”. Example : My sisters' names are Kate and Nikki. The children’s party was a blest. Students’ Pupils’

13 COLLECTIVE NOUNS Collective nouns are names used for a number of people, things or animals together and treated as one. Father bought a bunch of bananas yesterday. A group of friends

14 PROPER NOUNS Proper nouns are the special names of persons and things. Begins with capital letters. Examples: - Adam - Siti - Tanjong Malim - Giant Eg: -This is Kamal. He’s a doctor. -These people are from Bangkok. - Hari Raya Aidilfitri is a busy time for Sakinah’s mother.

16 Example sentences : Shows action a.The footballer kick the ball ( In this sentences kick is the verb and it shows action) State of being a.He is a talented diver. ( In the sentence, there is no action but a state of being which is expressed by the verb is)

19 Non-action verbs Be verbs I.I am twenty two years old. II.Suzie was here a while ago. Auxiliary verbs I.She is eating at cafe now II.They have gone home
