 State the problem  What is it you want to find out?  Example:  Would a bull in a china shop break things?

 Find out about the topic or identify what you already know  “Ask an expert”  People, books, websites  Example:  Who would you ask? (Farmer, bullrider)  Where did the myth come from?  Observations you have made before

 Predict the outcome to the problem  IF …, THEN…  Example:  IF a bull went into a china shop, THEN he would break the china.

 Develop a procedure to test the hypothesis  Example:  Create a china shop in a bull pin and record number of dishes broken

 Record the results of the experiment  Tables  Graphs  Charts  Pictures/ videos *Just to name a few  Example:  Video of bulls in the china shop  How many dishes were broken?

 Compare the hypothesis to the results of the experiment  Were you right or wrong?  Example:  We were not right! The bulls did not break the china

 ALL good results are repeatable (works more than once)  Example:  Try with MANY different bulls

 ALL good results are repeatable (works more than once)  Try This:  Flip a coin 10 times and record the number of heads Vs, tails  Flip a coin 100 times and record the number of heads vs. tails  What do you notice about your data?
