2 ABE WAS BORN Abraham Lincoln was born in February 12, After that his family moved to Illinois because there land was cheaper there. On the way his mom died. When he was nine his dad taught him to read and write.

3 THE KIDS He went to school to be a lawyer. He got his license to be a lawyer. On November 4, 1842 he meet a girl named Mary Todd. They had three sons named Tad, Will and Robert.

4 On September 9, 1836 Lincoln achieved his goal to practice law in the state of Illinois. Then Lincoln accepted an offer to become a junior partner in John Todd Stuart's law firm in Springfield.

He went back to New Salem for the last time in April. He packed his belongings and said good bye to his friends and family. In 1836 Lincoln was reelected to be state legislature. He would serve 4 terms.

9 THE BAD NEWS Congress had passed the Kansas/Nebraska Act. The new law said that Settler’s in new territories could chose if they wanted slaves or not. In January 1,1863 he stopped slavery.

10 The United States Senate passed the 13th amendment to the Constitution on April 8, The House passed it on January 31, Soon after it was sent to the United States for approval. Lincoln rejected it.

11 When he gave his speech nobody really knew what it meant, but when they really thought about it they could understand it.

12 Abraham Lincoln died from getting shot in the head by John Wilkes Booth
