Abraham Lincoln By Pyper

Introduction AAAAbraham Lincoln was the 18th president. He had a hard childhood, but a good family. He and his family were poor. He was inspired by many things. He was killed for standing up for what he believed in.

Beginning Abraham Lincoln was born in the wilderness. He was born on February 12,1809. His cabin's floor was packed with dirt. He was born in Sinking Spring Farm by Hodgenville, Kentucky. Very soon they moved to Cumberland Trail used for pioneers. He saw them go by his own house.

Childhood AAAAbraham Lincoln’s childhood was hard. When Abe was young he saw slaves going South to be sold to work for other people, without being paid. When he and his sister didn’t have work to do around the house they would walk lots of miles to a blab school. A blab school is where they blab the things they learned out loud. Learning was hard for Abe, but when he said it a lot of times he never forgot it.

Family  His family was very poor, but happy and hard- working. His father and mother hated slavery and thought it was wrong. Abe and his family went West for two weeks to go to Little Pigeon Creek in Indiana. They wanted to clear the forest a little where they lived so they got an ax. Abe was seven but skilled with an ax. Nancy, Abe’s mom got very sick and told Abe and his sister to take care of their father and each other. She died from the cow’s milk that was bad. Abe was so sad.

What influenced him  When Abe was young, he was influenced by many things. Abe was inspired by George Washington. Abe liked him because George commanded the Continental Army during war and was the very first president of the United States. Abe was also inspired by Benjamin Franklin, who was poor as a boy just as Abe was. Benjamin was very talented and a hard worker. When he was a little older he saw slaves being sold, and a slave on a table having his mouth being pried open and wanted to do something about it.

Who, where, and when Abe Lincoln got shot.  It was sad when our president got shot. John Wilkes Booth shot him in the head. Abe and his wife went to Ford Theater. John Wilkes Booth was from the South and loved slavery. The president helped stop it. So on April 15, 1865 the president got shot in the back of the head.

Conclusion  Abraham Lincoln was a good hero. He helped stop slavery. He made the world a better place.
