12 June 4, 2004 Telecities Ronneby Observations during the first years FttH lagged with respect to prognoses, due to -Economic situation (burst of the “bubble”) -Rapid uptake of ADSL / Cable -No sense of urgency with telco’s and cable companies -No viable commercial (unbundled) business case: Too much risk Too litte return of investment Slower than expected development of services -Less than expected broadband connections -Product- and service development takes time
