15 What is Pseudoscience? How can we distinguish proper scientific inquiry from Pseudoscience? What are the differences between two often misunderstood words, Astronomy and Astrology? Are horoscopes accurate?

16 VOCABULARY: 1) Pseudoscience – A practice, or methodology that claims to be scientific, but does not follow the established scientific method. Usually lacks concrete scientific evidence, and testable hypothesis. 2) Astronomy – A natural science that studies celestial objects and phenomena (stars, planets, galaxies, etc), outside the Earth‟s atmosphere. 3) Astrology – A belief system that attempts to predict human activity based on the relative position of celestial bodies compared to Earth.

22 A pharmaceutical company is developing a new drug that is designed to help prevent osteoporosis. One of the company's goals in conducting clinical trials is to determine if the drug will be more effective in women than men, and they also want to determine the optimum dosage of the drug.
