6 Creating Your CAR Your CAR is your personal work area - No one else can access it without your permission You will store important documents: Course Completion Certificates (CCC) All portfolio documentation 6

7 Creating Your CAR 1. Go to www.livetext.com 2. Enter your username and password 3. Select Login. *Note: Supported Internet Browsers: FireFox, version 1.0 or greater (preferred browser) Internet Explorer, version 6.0 or greater Safari, version 2.0 or greater (some formatting capabilities are limited) 7

11 3.In the Folder drop-down menu, choose LSSC Program 11 Creating Your CAR

12 4.Click on the Choose a template drop-down menu to see all competency sets, each preceded by the prompt “LastNameFirstName.” Select the first competency set. “LastNameFirstName ACCESS SERVICES COMPETENCY SET” 12 Creating Your CAR

13 5. In the Title field, use the following convention to name your competency set: LastNameFirstName Access Services (i.e., DoeJane Access Services). 6. Select Save as New Document. This will open your CAR folder for Access Services 13 Creating Your CAR

15 Congratulations! You have created your CAR Folder for Access Services. Repeat steps 6 and 7 for all competency sets, even for electives you do not think you will choose to complete. After creating a CAR Folder for each competency set, you will never repeat these steps. 15

17 Competency Set Pages Click on the name of the competency set in which you want to work. You will see your name and the competency set at the top A table of contents is down the left side of the screen 17

20 Uploading Certificates of Course Completion (CCC) 1. Upload the CCC, provided by your instructor 2. Under the Table of Contents in the desired competency set, select “Taking LSSC Approved Courses.” 3. Click on the Edit button, located to the right of each section in the page to access the Section Editor. 20

23 Uploading a file 23 1.Click on the Insert File Attachment tab. A new screen will appear. 2.Click on the Upload New File button.

25 25 4.Browse your computer files & select the CCC. 5.Click on the file name or click open. The file will be uploaded to your CAR, like attaching a file to an email.

28 The attachment shows at the bottom. Click Save and Finish to return to the Competency Set page. 28

29 Submitting a CCC for Documenting Progress* At the top of the competency set page, click on the Send for Review button to open the Search for Reviewer(s) window. * CCCs are not reviewed by evaluators, they are submitted so that the program can document your progress toward certification. 29

31 Submitting a CCC In the box at the bottom of the window, type in “LSSCP_Admin.” The My Institutions box is already checked. You don’t need to change that. The screen will show that your selected reviewer is LSSCP Certification Administration. 31

36 Uploading Portfolio Documents Click on the Competency you wish to work on and click Edit Highlight any PDS so the evaluator knows. If you choose to use your own documentation instead of a PDS, do not highlight any PDS. Indicate to the evaluator in which order to read your attachments. 36

42 42 Click Save & Finish to return to the competency set page. Scroll down to confirm that you have successfully attached your documents.

43 Submitting a Completed Portfolio After you have uploaded documents for ALL competencies in a set and completed a Personal Learning Statement, click Send for Review. In the box at the bottom of the window, type in “LSSCP_Admin.” Select LSSCP Certification Administration. 43

46 46 Submitting a Completed Portfolio The window will confirm that “you have successfully sent this document to 1 user.”

47 Portfolio Evaluation The LSSC Office will assign your portfolio to evaluators and contact you when your portfolio has been reviewed. 47

48 Tips to Remember To upload any files, you first have to click edit. Uploading files is like adding e-mail attachments. Highlight a PDS and indicate order attachments should be read. Always save your work by clicking save and finish. 48
