ELA – Mrs. Fulton Reading – This week we will finish up Unit 7 with a Cold Read test where the students will be comparing/contrasting literary texts, focusing on setting, plot, theme, and character traits. Then we start our review for the FSA, where we will be spending time on all of the standards, based on how well they have mastered them throughout the year. Here are some things to ask when you are reading with your child: 1.What is the setting, plot, and, theme and how would you describe the main characters? (for any fiction book they read) 2. How do the illustrations and any other text features help you understand the text? (for fiction and non-fiction) 3. What information in the text (words from the text) support your answers to #1 and #2 above)? 3. What is the main idea of the passage and what details support that main idea?
