15 Good Governance TEQIP-II GOOD GOVERNANCE PROGRAMME 1. Developing Institutional Governance Document (based on TEQIP ‘Good Practice Guide for Governing Bodies’ Initiatives suggested by NPIU / World bank 3. Governance development plan by Institutions 2.Self-review (SR) of current governance practice by Institutions Self-review of current governance practice, to identify strengths and also any gaps and areas for development. Institutions to develop institutional governance development plans to overcome the gaps

Developing Institutional Governance Document It took us Over six months to come up with this documents Bringing in Acceptance & Ownership o This document has drawn considerably from, “TEQIP Good Practice Guide for Governing Bodies December 2012”. o Several rounds of Discussions with Board members and institutional Executive leadership.

17 GOVERNANCE SELF-REVIEW QUESTIONS GRADESUPPORTING EVIDENCE A1 Has the Governing Body approved the institutional strategic vision, mission and plan - identifying a clear development path for the institution through its long-term business plans and annual budgets? 2  Vision & Mission statements are evolved through a strategic plan by the institute faculty and they have been displayed on college website and lesson plans given to students. However formal approval by the GC has not been taken.  These were discussed in the Governing Council as part of information agenda presented by the Principal. These were discussed and approved, however they were not documented formally as part of the minutes of the meeting.  Annual budgets are approved by the GC 2. 19 TEQIP-II Our Learning It is observed that TEQIP Program is viewed only as a means of Upgrading the Laboratories and Faculty to help improve the quality of Education Program also aims at building institutional capability by adapting Good practices and processes. This will help the institutions to sustain and grow the improvements beyond the project periods

To Increase support to weak students and not placed students to enhance employment opportunity. Strengthening promotion of entrepreneurship in student community Challenges Continuation of Autonomous Status / Permanent Affiliation Delayed, resulting in postponement of accreditation process by NBA
