11 Distillation of start/stop/continue activity: What do we want to do in 2015?

12 Collaborative Share attendance and experiences at events and conferences Share ideas and practice Belongs to members We should Continue monthly meetings Monthly meet ups Invite more academics List of members interests and groups -> Structures and members Case studies in L&T 5-10 minute demo of everyone’s favourite app. Sharing good practice – where we know it works Sharing good practice I love hearing about good other projects and how they have done them e.g. what they have used Technology demonstrations Monthly meet ups Meeting, sharing, working together – try to do more External visitors are essential for horizon scanning All looks good to me! Like the idea of demos – commercial suppliers. Discussing effects of technology techniques in different contexts. Challenging rhetoric Skills development, practice, sharing Any pool of resources that we could use e.g. rooms etc? opportunity for a 5-10 minute demo of everyone’s favourite app. START USING THE BLOG LESS USE OF POWERPOINT Professional Development Opportunity to demonstrate experience of work and developments Empowerment We should More practical sessions so that we only come to things we’re really interested in: (Teaching/Scorative/VLE/Adobe Connect/Online teaching / Animation/Resources for Teaching/Assessment) CPD on the agenda Sometimes feel we rush through or skim over things – knowing what software is being used isn’t that useful – longer demo/hands on session would be better. Technology demonstrations emerging technologies were very interesting – I would like to see more of these More demos/guests Yes for more tech demos – more technical topics as well. Intro to languages (Python etc) HTML5 interactivity. Al + be Edge(?)? Skills development, practice, sharing. Skills development not discussion more valuable. opportunity for a 5-10 minute demo of everyone’s favourite app. LONGER DEMO HANDS ON SESSIONS MAKE SURE SESSIONS ARE RELEVANT Case studies in L&T List of members interests and groups -> Structures and members Open To new members in many roles Informal Meeting outcomes posted on blog and circulated We should Invite more academics More meeting locations External visitors are essential for horizon scanning Like the idea of demos – commercial suppliers. Higher frequency topics – most tools won’t work, but higher number of topics increases chance of “hits” with particular groups Rebrand to Learning Technology Network (get away from role issues)? (JKAL) Connected Links to internal and external networks Input into and informed by University policies We should Invite more academics Reflect on some of the projects of other groups in order to feedback to Schools/Faculties Widen the network Opening out the network beyond learning technologists Occasional informal meet ups (e.g. lunch, quick after work drinks,) Any pool of resources that we could use e.g. rooms etc? External visitors are essential for horizon scanning Like the idea of demos – commercial suppliers. More demos/guests Expand the blog buddybosstheme, terms, privacy, aims, activities Agree plan for shorter monthly meetings Occasional informal meet ups (e.g. lunch, quick after work drinks,) More demos, keep CPD on the agenda like to see demos of what the University has produced or is producing Topics based on tools (external partners) List of members interests and groups -> Structures and members Reflect on some of the projects of other groups in order to feedback to Schools/Faculties (lecture capture/e-assessment). Lots of staff don’t know about these developments! “What should we continue, stop and start?” outcomes summary structured by network ethos into Actions Outcomes are placed multiple times if they are relevant to more than one ethos area. Things to stop have been turned into positive actions (i.e. ignoring the blog has been turned into use the blog)
