2 Need for HIV/AIDS Program addressing MSM & TG in South Asia The Asian Epidemic Model estimates that without improved HIV prevention successes the number of MSM becoming infected with HIV will increase greatly within the next ten years, and that the number of MSM becoming infected with HIV will increase greatly within the next ten years, and that MSM will form the highest proportion of people being infected with HIV ( the 2008 report by the Commission for AIDS in Asia) MSM will form the highest proportion of people being infected with HIV ( the 2008 report by the Commission for AIDS in Asia) NATIONAL STI & HIV/AIDS CONTROL PROGRAM

10 CCM involvement - The Country CCM does not have the oversight role for this project. The Global Fund Secretariat is the sole body that has the oversight role for the regional project - A regional Steering committee will be formed comprising of one/two CCM members from each of the participating countries. Four meetings of the Steering committee will be called, two in person meetings and two through electronic communications.
