2 Where are we now? LAA signed off March 2007 36 outcomes under 6 Future Plan Themes 92 performance indicators, including 20 mandatories, and 14 reward targets Overall good progress being made Some concerns mainly around perception and behavioural measures

3 New LAAs: Where we need to be Identify “up to 35 priorities” to be drawn from the new 198 National Indicators Set+ 16 statutory education and early years targets Agree stretch performance on our “up to 35” Able to measure all 198 indicators for area assessment Decide what “local” targets (if any) we want in our LAA Start negotiation with Government Office from now until end of May Achieve LAA sign off by June 2008

5 How do we get there? Build on current LAA Consider how the existing “story of place” reflects our ambitions and major issues? – feedback from Theme Partnerships Look at the 36 priority outcomes in our current LAA to check reflect ambition, underperformance and Government priorities Identify indicators to reflect our story of place and priorities

6 Next Steps Seek broad agreement on Calderdale’s story of place Affirm any changes to the current list of priority outcomes for the New LAA Seek proposals regarding the 35 indicators from the 198 NIS Develop a first draft story of place and draft priority indicators in January Bring back to Board meeting 23 January

7 Key Issues for the Board What changes, if any, are required in our “story of place”? Is there an impact on the wording of our current 36 priority outcomes? Are there any new issues to be covered in our priorities? How does the 198 NIS fit within our priorities?
