5 New Types of Exams GCSEs in Maths and English have more challenging content. Subjects that were once seen as “easier” have become harder. Course work is largely removed. New course specifications are available for maths and English. Other subjects will be out in September 2015.

6 AB C 2 of Eng and maths (double counted) 3 of EBACC subjects History, Geography, Sciences (& Computer science), Languages 3 from all the rest - including some but not all BTECs and NVQs (approved every January) Attainment 8 The Eight

7 New Vocational Qualifications BTECs are phasing out. V Certs are in. New qualifications in Food and Cookery ECDL

10 ECDL/RE Two qualifications Both count as GCSEs Good track record of achieving good passes in both but These are not EBACC subjects
