Hoy es: martes, 29/10/13

 Encantar (enchanted)  Gustar (to like)  Fascinar (to fascinate)  Pregunta (question) = ¿Te gusta/fascina/encanta?  Respuesta (answer)Me gusta/fascina/encanta.  Indirect objects  Nos gusta…  A mí me gusta… or just say me gusta…  Al (subject) Al maestro le gusta or le gusta  ¿Te gusta?

 We use the verbs: gustar, fascinar, encantar  In Spanish we say the thing(s) that please you first ( “La pizza me gusta”), but you can also say “Me gusta la pizza”  So instead of saying, “I like pizza”, you would say “Pizza is pleasing to me” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRo 55O9Zaic

If what you likeis singular Me gusta (I like) Nos gusta (we like) Te gusta (You familiar like) Os gusta (you all familiar like) Le gusta (he/she, it likes) (You formal like) Les gusta (They like) (You all like) If what you likeis plural Me gustan (I like) Nos gustan (we like) Te gustan (You familiar like) Os gustan (you all familiar like) Le gustan (he/she, it likes) (You formal like) Les gustan (They like) (You all like) If you DON’T like something, just put a NO in front of the object pronoun (me) Ejemplo: No me gusta la carne.

 Encantar works the same way, it’s just a stronger emotion than gustar.  It means that someone loves something.  To conjugate the verb Encantar do the same thing you do to the verb gustar  Ejemplo: Me encanta, te encanta, le encanta nos encanta, les encanta, os encanta  Fascinar (to fascinate)  To conjugate the verb you drop the –r  Ejemplo: Me fascina, le fascina, nos fascina, les fascina.

 If you want to either emphasize or clarify who likes, loves, or does not like something, add the following to the beginning of the sentence.  You can use these with gustar, no gustar, encantar, or fascina  Ejemplo: A mí me gusta el fútbol. (I like soccer) A mí (I)A nosotros (they) A ti (you)A vosotros A él (he) A ella (she) A usted (you) A ellos (they) A ellas A ustedes

 To emphasize how much or how little you like add:  Mucho – VERY OR A LOT  Somewhat – más o menos  Poco – A LITTLE BIT  Ejemplo: Me gusta mucho el chocolate. I really like chocolate

Here is a scale to demonstrate which words you world use to express the way you feel. We will use examples of pizza and tacos. LOVEDISLIKE LIKE No me fascina la pizza I am not fascinated by pizza. Nos gustan los tacos We like tacos. Me encanta la pizza. Pizza is very pleasing to me
