To describe the benefits of implementing the hydro To present the project outline Cost Estimates Project Funding To describe how the community will be involved in the project Project Team – Roles & Responsibilities

2 Outline Why are we doing this? What is a Micro-Hydro Power Plant?
What are the benefits to Bario Asal & Arur Layun community? Where are we now and what next? Who will be involved in the Project?

3 Why are we doing this? Provide the residents of Bario Asal & Arur Layun with electricity; Elevate the standard & quality of life of the local community; Encourage sustainable development.

4 What are the benefits to the community?
A constant supply of electricity Savings on the cost of buying diesel for diesel powered generators Low environmental impact Low noise and air pollution Coupled with reforestation in the water catchments area, the project also aims to reduce the risk of flash floods in years to come.

5 What is a Micro-Hydro Power Plant?
A small scale power plant that generates electricity using the energy potential of water. Micro-hydro power plants convert the energy of flowing water into electrical energy. The energy produced by them is renewable & the process does not emit polluting gases.

6 Outline Why are we doing this? What is a Micro-Hydro Power Plant?
What are the benefits to Bario Asal & Arur Layun community? Where are we now and what next? Who will be involved in the Project?

7 Where are we now? A bank account at Maybank Boulevard, Miri has been set up in the name of JKK Kampung Bario Asal with over RM10k in the account A preliminary site survey has been carried out and a project paper has been drafted; Contacted various interested parties who have prior experience in executing similar projects in Borneo: The Borneo Project Team – Focal Point : Jessica Lawrence PACOS – Focal Point : Adrian Lasimbang Seacology.Org – Via Jessica Lawrence PACOS & Seacology.Org previous projects website
