3 Matchfit 2014 The Stats In 2014, over 1000 competitors from 19 different education providers, competed in 62 Matchfit Skills competitions, across 43 subject areas, at 9 different competition hosting colleges 26 national and regional employers sponsored the programme including Total, Siemens, The Leeds Grand Theatre, City & Guilds and Wella 274 individuals took part in Have A Go activities 497 members of staff were involved gaining CPD hours Competitions categories included Animal Care & Horticulture; Business & IT; Construction & Engineering; Cultural & Creative Arts; Hair & Beauty; Health, Social & Child Care; Hospitality & Catering; and Public Services & Sport Each competition category included between 2 and 12 individual competitions

4 Sport & Public Services Finals Matchfit 2014 Hosted by Doncaster College at their High Melton Campus on Tuesday 11 th March 114 students from 14 different education providers competed in the ‘Sports Exercise Challenge’ involving running, cycling and rowing and the ‘Public Services Challenge’ involving a command task, orienteering and tug of war Bradford College’s Public Services team took home the Silver medal.

5 Hospitality & Catering and Travel & Tourism Finals Matchfit 2014 Hosted by Bradford College on Tuesday 11 th March 66 students from 14 different education providers competed in 9 competitions including Team Cook & Serve, Bread Baking, Healthy Curry Chef, Petit Fours and Travel & Tourism Awais Iqbal won the Silver medal in the Travel & Tourism Final Bradford College’s Team Cook & Serve team took home the Bronze medal Luke O'Hara won Bronze in the L2 Healthy Curry Chef Final Chloe Clegg won Bronze in the L2 Petit Fours Final Naveed Ali took home the Bronze in the Travel & Tourism Final

6 Cultural & Creative Arts Finals Matchfit 2014 Hosted by Yorkshire Coast College, Scarborough, on Wednesday 12 th March 360 students from 8 different education providers competed in 12 competitions including Band, Singer/Songwriter, Dance, Acting, Musical Theatre, Drawing and Photography Bradford College’s 3 piece rock band Francis won the Gold medal in the L3 Band Final. Lex Newton took home the Silver medal in the L3 Singer/Songwriter Final

7 Hair & Media Makeup Finals Matchfit 2014 Hosted by Bradford College on Wednesday 12 th March 30 students from 14 different education providers competed in 2 competitions including Theatrical, Special Effects & Media Makeup and Media Makeup Bradford College’s L3 media makeup team took home the Gold medal in the Theatrical, Special Effects & Media Makeup Final Bradford College’s L2 media makeup team won the Bronze medal in the Media Makeup Final

8 Business & IT Finals Matchfit 2014 Hosted by Grimsby Institute on Thursday 13 th March 49 students from 9 different education providers competed in 10 competitions including PC Design & Build, App Creation, Web Design, This or That Debate and Plan A Popup Tomasz Knapik took home the Gold medal in the L3 Web Design Final Jordan Tomlinson won Silver medal in the L3 App Creation Final Darren Hemmingway won Silver in the L3 PC Design & Build Final

9 Hair & Beauty Finals Matchfit 2014 Hosted by Kirklees College on Friday 14 th March 110 students from 14 different education providers competed in 14 competitions including Up Style, Avant-Garde, Cut & Blow Dry, Cut & Colour, Nail Art, Nail Enhancement and Beauty Therapy Mehwish Butt won the Silver medal in the L2 Beauty Therapy Final Michelle Cooper took home the Silver medal in the L2 Nail Enhancement Final Daniella Ibbotson won a Bronze medal in the L3 Beauty Therapy Final Georgia Robertshaw won Bronze in the L1 Up Style Hairdressing Final

10 Construction & Engineering Finals Matchfit 2014 Hosted by Leeds College of Building on Wednesday 19 th March and North Lindsey College on Thursday 20 th March 141 students from 14 different education providers competed in 16 competitions including Brickwork, Painting & Decorating, Carpentry & Joinery, Plumbing, Electrical Installation, Plastering, Turning, Fabrication & Welding, Auto CAD 2D and Electronics Thomas Hinchliffe took home the Gold medal in the L3 Fabrication & Welding Final Thomas Marsden won Gold in the L3 Turning Final Oliver Brown claimed the Silver medal in the L3 Fabrication & Welding Final Joe Brady won Silver in the L3 Turning Final Jed Mowforth won Silver in the L3 Brickwork Final

11 Health, Social & Child Care Finals Matchfit 2014 Hosted by Shipley College on Friday 23 rd May 24 students from 4 different education providers competed in 4 competitions including Health & Social Care and Child Care Nomagugu Ncube took home the Gold medal for Bradford College in the L1 Health & Social Care Final Clara Mapurisa won Silver medal in the L1 Health & Social Care Final

12 Bradford College Performance Matchfit 2014 6 Gold Medals 11 Silver Medals 7 Bronze Medals Overall, with a total of 24 medals, Bradford College came a fantastic second place out of 19 education providers who competed in Matchfit 2014.

13 Onwards… Matchfit 2015 In February/March 2015, Bradford College will host the following Matchfit Finals: Matchfit Business & IT Finals Matchfit’s first Science Finals
