9 » My name is Karen Lambert. I have been on the governing body for 6 years. » I first became a parent governor then moved onto community governor and now I am Chair of governors. » I am a full time mum to my 4 children and enjoy volunteering within the community and spending my free time with my family and friends.

10 » I have been a Governor with Rolleston for about 3 years now. I thoroughly enjoy my role, including, being the Char of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing group. » I am also a ward councillor within Eyres Monsell ward. Life is busy most days and I can be available 7 days a week. I work with all the community and everything that involves the council. » I have worked within the care services and have taken dementia training and hold a portfolio covering older people’s issues. » My family life is a mum of 4 children (all adults now) 2 at university studying arts and social science, 1 foster carer and 1 manager for Toyota. » I write in my spare time and gardening is something I do and want to learn more about.

11 » "My name is Jo Preston. I have been a Governor at Rolleston for 5 years. I started as a Parent Governor and I am now a Community Governor. I am a mother to 3 girls and dedicate my spare time to volunteering in the community. I enjoy creative activities and spending time with my family and friends."

12 » Having worked for the Salvation Army for 20 years, as a Minister, I have served in Northern Ireland, Newcastle and Guernsey. » I moved to Leicester about 4 and a half years ago and I am now the officer in charge at the church in South Wigston. » I am married with 2 children, 1 at University and 1 doing their A Levels. » I enjoy watching and playing sport and walking the dog. » Having just joined the Governing Body at Rolleston I am looking forward to getting involved in the life of the school where I am able to.

13 » I have been a Governor at Rolleston for approximately 24 years. I began as a parent governor when my son, now 28 years old attended the Infant school and the Junior school as they were previously, separate schools. » I am now a Local Authority Governor and I work full time as an Education Welfare Officer for Leicester City Council and have been working for the service since 2000. Prior to this I worked as a Youth & Community Worker and was based at The Eyres Monsell Community Centre / Magpie Youth Centre, providing under- fives provision / youth work/ playschemes and adult education for many years. I grew up on the Eyres Monsell Estate, attended the local schools and I have family still living in the area. » I will always have a fondness for the area due to my happy memories of living and working here. » I am a qualified Counsellor and worked for 10 years as a Therapist / Counsellor at Open Door Leicester working with 11 – 25 year olds. I have continued as a Governor at Rolleston as I hope that I can give something back to the community by supporting the education and learning of the children and families within the local area.

16 » I first started working at Rolleston as caretaker in the Infants in 1981 (32 years ago) I can’t believe it has been that long. » About 11/12 years ago I took over as premises officer at both the Infant and Junior Schools. » During my time here I have had to deal with one or two major incidents: including a roof collapse. » Over last few years I have been involved with three major building projects i.e. the building of Rolleston Sports Hall, building work for the then new Primary School and more recent work carried out in 2010. » I have been a staff governor on several occasions during my time at Rolleston and enjoy both roles as governor and site manager and look forward to continuing both.

17 » My name is Rebecca Hubert and have been a staff governor for over 5 years. » I am also a member of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing committee. » I currently teach Year 2.
