2 What is a personal music player (PMP)?
A personal music player is a device that you can carry around with you and lets you listen to music Usually, the device has headphones for the user to place on his/her ears to listen to music The goal of a personal music player is to have the ability to listen to music “on the go”

The Sony Walkman TPS-L2 was the first popular PMP It was released in 1979 The user could listen to cassettes while on the go Usually, a cassette fit 1 album (15-17 songs) The walkman used batteries

As time went on, PMPs got a bit more compact (smaller) and added options like radio and recording from the radio Eventually, PMPs used CDs and Mini discs (1990s-early 2000s) In 2001, Apple introduced the first generation of Ipods…
