What is the Cell Phone? A cell phone is a device used to talk to people who are in different locations. Cell phones have no wires and use a wireless network to talk and text voice or data over the network.

What is a Smart Phone ? A smart phone is similar to a cell phone in that it can call/talk and SMS text. A smart phone can talk, and text, but it can also use the internet, and have many applications downloaded onto the phone. E.g. games, maps etc.

The history of phones The first cell phone was invented April 3, 1973 by Dr. Martin Cooper. He invented the first practical cell phone. (small enough to carry with you) Since the invention of the first cell phone, they have been getting smaller and more advanced ever since.

Cell Phone Popularity Cell phones in the 90’s were a luxury. Over time cell phones are becoming an every day must have item. They became smaller, longer batteries and feature rich including containing a camera. Apple too has launched a feature rich smart phone Rim (research in motion) launched the Blackberry in 1999. It had wide appeal as a business tool since it not only allowed talk, text, and a camera, but it integrated with a company’s email server allowing a mini- computer like device to be mobile for all people whose businesses were on the move.

The Technology in the cell phone Every phone has an SMS (short message service) chip An SMS chip allows your phone to get information from other phones or get internet accesses. Without the SMS chip, your phone could not be able to connect with other phones or use the internet. Cell phones use rechargeable batteries which provides the power required to run the phone. Battery power has increased over time as the increase in features and use of the phone would require more power.

What does the future hold for cell phones? Right now in the present, we are in a period called mores law This is when technology gets better each year Soon we are going to hit a time when technology cant get any better But until then we will start seeing phones/ other devises like this one 
