2 CCART Use this when you want to transfer an item to another UT Austin department (including Surplus) How to use: Enter the inventory number of the item you want to transfer in the “Inventory Number” column Enter the 7-digit unit code of the department you want to transfer to in the “Transfer to Unit” column If the item contains hazardous materials, indicate “Safety” in the “Special Handling” column If the item is a computer, indicate “Computer” in the “Special Handling” column After creating a CCART, you can go to “My CCARTs List” on the left sidebar. Click the CCART you just created. Select “APP” on the “Action” drop-down menu, then click “Perform Action” For more detailed instructions see the CCART TutorialCCART Tutorial

3 Special CCART Rules Before you CCART computers to Surplus you must remove and destroy the hard drive UT offers a free Hard Drive Destruction Service at the FAC Service Desk, 1-5pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and ThursdaysHard Drive Destruction Service CCARTs to Surplus require additional explanation and must be routed to the Property Manager if an item has: a historical value of $75,000 or greater a depreciated value of $10,000 or greater Avoid putting more than 20 items on a single CCART—putting too many items on a single CCART can lead to technical issues For questions on CCART please email: INVccart@austin.utexas.edu INVccart@austin.utexas.edu
