12 My Personal Analysis Though Minneapolis, Minnesota, offers better salaries for the jobs that I… Chose… I would still choose to live in Gillette, Wyoming, as a Computer Programmer…  the average house costs $122,000, which is not bad for a salary of $41,300 per year if I become a computer programmer.  the cost of living (out of 100) is a mere 43-less than half!  the sales tax is 5% which is 2% lower than the other two states.  the average income taxes for Nebraska and Minnesota are $1233 and $1665, but Wyoming’s is a minute $0.
