6 Shoreline Biotech HS Coordinator Washington State Workforce Development Grant Adrienne Houck Goals included: Talking to students about: the industry career fields path to career salary/tuition reimbursement benefits Identifying students who are: not planning to attend a four-year college or finances require alternatives to four-year college first generation, ESL or other barriers that keep students from thinking ahead

7 Outreach Opportunities for Middle and High Schools
Visits to School -Science Classroom-stay for all sections, hands-on activity addressing your current curriculum. -Career fairs or Presentations Visits to Shoreline CC -Arrange full campus tour with biotechnology lab. -Can plan for a larger group with rotations -Smaller groups can arrange for lab activities.

8 SCC Outreach goals moving forward
Continue Outreach to Schools Create a Biotechnology Pathway for underserved and/or middle achieving students Pathway includes: Biotechnology Summer Student Experience (BSSE) Camp to Biotech (C2B) Continue to expand the Bruce Wallace Lab Program to Schools outside of the greater Seattle Area
