This is the top of the RPAM statement. The most important thing is that this is you.

4 Reading the RPAM STATEMENT
Rank and Name SSN Soldiers Unit and unit address Unit UIC and PRN Looking at the RPAM this is the top left of the paper. The UIC and PRN is a unit identifier for the unit that you belong to.

5 Reading the RPAM STATEMENT
Date Generated Anniversary Year Ending also referred to as your RYE date Basic Active Service Date This is the top right side of your RPAM. Here the most important thing is your AYE/RYE date. It is read month/day. Notice that your BASD is blank for most unless you are AGR or out. The highest grade held, if you were in anything other then ARNG your packet would have to go up to ST. Louis in order for you to regain your rank from a prior branch. Highest Grade Held YES means has 20-year letter. NO means does not have 20-year letter

6 AYE/RYE Date These are some reasons that your AYE/RYE date may change. The most common is a break in service.

7 Reading the RPAM STATEMENT
Beginning Date of Service Ends one year minus a day from the beginning date. This will equal one year. Each line is not necessarily one year and will not add up unless it is 12 months (one year) The end date is the most important thing we are going to look at on this slide. This is the body of the RPAM and the ending date is going to be the month and day that your AYE/RYE will close out. That will be a total year from the begin date.

8 Reading the RPAM STATEMENT
Military Status Identifier-designates the service IDT are the drills/ATAs/RMAs /Ets/AFTPs Membership points-15 per year The MMSI is a code for what status you were in. On the second page of your RPAM there is a ledger that will tell you what each one means. IDT is were your drill points will show. Assuming that you do a good year from begin date to ending RYE date you will have 15 points in the MEM column.

9 Reading the RPAM STATEMENT
Correspondence Points- 1 point for 3 credit hours Active Duty Points ACCP is from all correspondence courses and a few 1059s are totaled into the points. Your AD points are the next column.

10 Correspondence Courses
Website: Login This is the new site for Correspondence Courses. Use your AKO information to get in.

11 Correspondence Courses
Historical Enrollments The next screen you will see you need to pick My Courses. Once you pick that this will come up. Pick My Historical Enrollments. Courses

12 Correspondence Courses
Ok so now I can see the Modules the Edition the date completed and how many credits to give you. Remember to expand the + signs. Expand all the + signs.

13 Reading the RPAM STATEMENT
VS means verified Service. If it is a “B”, supporting documentation needs to be submitted to correct it to a V. **No points are being accounted for if there is a B** This verifies your time as good with a V or bad with a B. NO POINTS FOR Bs. If you do have a B this could throw your whole RPAM off.

14 Reading the RPAM STATEMENT
Total Career Points is the total of IDT/Membership/ACCP and AD Points. This is where ALL the MMSI + IDT + MEM + ACCP + All AD points = Your total career points.

15 Reading the RPAM STATEMENT
Total Points for Retirement Pay is the amount used to calculate your retirement pay. This column is less than Total Career Points because it follows the 60/75/90/130 CAP set by Congress. For your Total Ret Points you add The CAP to ALL AD point. The caps are set by congress and they encompass MMSI IST MEM ACCP.

16 Summary Records Ending on
MAX INACTIVE POINTS Summary Records Ending on Period IDT ACCP MEMBERSHIP Military Funeral Honors (MFH) Maximum 1 July 49 – 22 Sep 96 X 60 23 Sep 96 – 31 Dec 99 75 1 Jan 00 – 29 Oct 00 75 plus all MFH 30 Oct Oct 07 90 plus all 30 Oct 07 - Present 130 plus all These are the caps set by congress. Please make not of the Ending Period for these caps when you look at your RPAM.

17 Reading the RPAM STATEMENT
Creditable Service for Retirement Pay. This is the number of GOOD Years/Months/Days you have earned for retirement. You need 50 points minimum in each AYE before it is a GOOD Year. 50 points equals a year. If you have 49 that is not going to be enough for a good year. All your AD days count. Just like that example this SM did 1 day past RYE date on A! which is Active Army. This equaled 1 day, the same goes for all AD points you get in the Guard.

18 Reading the RPAM STATEMENT
From to is only 8 months, so the new beginning date opens and ends on the AYE , giving the soldier 01years/00months/00days for ret. Pay. Please don’t let the dashes shock you or think that you are missing years. Remember back at the AYE/RYE date. Know that your points will not total until your RYE even if your status changed. Your status can change from B1 to B4 (really any code for the Guard) and it still will not close until that RYE date.

19 Reading the RPAM STATEMENT
This is an open record and it will not add to the totals until the AYE Closes. This is the number of total Active Federal Service Days If you look at the bottom of your RPAM you will notice that it is still open if you are still in. If you aren’t then the date you got out would replace the dashes. Then the total for AD then there is the total for your retirement. This is the total points for Retirement Pay.

20 Reading the RPAM STATEMENT
Number of years/months/days for Retirement Pay. REMEMBER, IT MUST SAY 20 YEARS BEFORE YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR A 20 YEAR-LETTER. Then you will have the number of years totaled up.

21 Reading the RPAM STATEMENT
Detailed part of the 23A These designate the morning or afternoon periods. This is the Drill Type This is part of the 23A. It doesn’t go back but the last year or two sometimes. Here is the date that the drill was preformed and then there are 2 assemblies, morning and afternoon. The 11 is a code for the type of IDT that was preformed. These are the drill dates that the soldier performed.

22 Reading the RPAM STATEMENT
IDT Codes These are the verious codes that are used to key in your IDT points. This information is located on the bottom of your LES.

23 Reading the RPAM STATEMENT
Detailed part of the 23A This is any active duty. It too only goes a year or two back. You will notice the begin date is the date your AD orders started and the end date is the date that your orders ended. To include the being and end date will equal a point a day. The 22 is a code that lets me know what type of duty was preformed. This is the type of active duty that was preformed. Active Duty Date Performed Number of day on Active Duty

24 Reading the RPAM STATEMENT
Active Duty Codes These are the codes that are used for your AD. This also comes from the bottom of your LES.

25 Correcting RPAM Verifying Documents are LES s 1379s DARP 249 AF 526
To correct any information on the RPAM Statement, send verifying documents to the address on the first slide. Verifying Documents are LES s 1379s DARP 249 AF 526 Correspondence completion notifications MMPAs 1059S Some 1059s. Not all of them. If they have a course #, Edition, Credit hours, Completion date then they will work. Mostly they are War College or SGM courses. No E-Learning documents at this time.

26 Documents that cannot be used to
verify RPAM POINTS: TAX FORMS W-2S BANK STATEMENTS TRAVEL VOUCHERS ORDERS NO ORDERS!!

27 20-YEAR LETTER This is how your 20 year letter should look like. Make sure that you read all the information that is on this letter because it is important and will or may effect you in the future. NOTE*** Make sure that your address is correct in SIDPERs inorder to receive your 20 yr ltr with no delay.

28 20-YEAR LETTER Ok so you will get a copy of this. Your Iperms will as well. The one you receive if the state use so we do not keep this. Please keep this in a safe place.

29 20-YEAR LETTERS 20-Year letters are issued on once each month. (It is up to each state how often the letters will be issued). Tennessee issues the letters twice a month if duties permit. The original 20-year letter is mailed to the soldiers Home of Record. (The address that is in SIDPERS) A copy scanned and sent to IPERMS. The 1st and 15th (duty permitting) 20 year letters will be printed out. As you saw COL Nelson has to sign them, so please be patient because he is the only one that can sign them and he is a very busy COL. KEEP THE ORIGIONAL which is mailed to you. If you ever loose it please look in your Iperms. To access Iperms go through AKO it is located on the right hand side. Use your AKO information to get into it and type in 23 or the date you would have received it.

30 20-YEAR LETTERS 20-Year Letters are not issued in the middle of the AYE unless the soldier actually goes over 20 years of GOOD time in the middle of the AYE. Soldiers who request discharge in the middle of the AYE and will have 20 GOOD years after the RPAM closes on the discharge date, will receive their 20 year letter AFTER they are discharged. If your RYE date is May 10th but you hit 20 years May 5th you will still not receive a 20 year letter until May 15th when they are printed out. Please wait a few weeks before contacting your unit personnel to obtain this. Chances are it is in your IPerms. If you are discharging and have 20 years, once I have a close out date your 20 year letter will be generated.
