REQUESTING TRANSCRIPTS Student Training Presentation

Verify Naviance Account Information Step # 1
Log into Your Naviance Account Can’t remember your password? Click on the “Forgot Your Password link”. A temporary password will be sent to your Go to CR South’s Website 2. Click on Counseling Tab 3. Click on Naviance link on left side 4. Click on Naviance link in middle of page 5. Enter and password 6. Click Log In
Verify and Update Account Information 1. From the Home screen, click the “About Me” tab 2. Under Official Things, click on “Profile” link 3. Verify all information in Personal Profile section, especially name, Counselor, birth date, and 4. To edit information, click the “edit” button. 5. To edit your address, click pencil icon
Creating a Common Application Account Step # 2
What is the Common Application?
Create Common Application Account Create account after August 1st 1. To create an account, click “Go” Be sure to enter an appropriate address and password. Don’t forget to use your Naviance address Create account ONLY if you are applying via the Common App 1.
Create Common Application Account Once each section is completed, a green check mark is displayed. All sections must be completed.

Step # 3 Complete the Profile Section From the Common App Tab: 1. Complete the entire Profile section 1.

Step # 3 Adding a College From the College Search tab 2. Check box if correct 1. Enter school name and click enter Click Add
Step # 3 Assign Recommenders Once College is added: 1. Click “My Colleges” tab 2. Click Assign Recommenders FERPA Waiver Question will appear
Step # 3 Sign FERPA Waiver From the Assign Recommenders Tab: 1. FERPA will appear. Click on “release authorization link
Step # 3 Sign FERPA Waiver FERPA will first instruct you to read the instructions2. FERPA will ask you to sign

Matching Common App Account with Naviance 1. Click “Colleges I’m applying to” From the Colleges tab… Once logged into your Naviance account:
Matching Common App Account Account Matching INCOMPLETE Please be aware, once “Matched”, you cannot change your FERPA decision If not “Matched”, Counselors cannot send any materials electronically 1. Enter address. MUST be the same used in Common App account 1.

Adding Colleges to Your Naviance Account for NON-Common Application Schools Step # 5
Step # 5 Adding Colleges to Your “College List” in Naviance 1. Click “Colleges I’m applying to” From the Colleges tab… Once logged into your Naviance account:
Step # 5 If Not Applying to a Common App School 1. Click on Not Needed link 1. Once clicked, Common App Matching will appear, however, you are not technically “matched”. If you decide to apply to a Common App school later, you must then click “Do it now” and enter your address that you use for the Common Application
Step # 5 Adding Colleges to Your “College List” in Naviance 1. Click on College Tab 2. Click on “Add college to this list” Remember, this should only be done for NON-Common Application schools 1. 2.
Step # 5 Enter Decision Type, College Name and Submitted Application 1. Indicate Decision Type using the drop down arrow 2. Look up college to add to your list 3. Search for college by name or from College Picker quick list 4. Click “I submitted my application”. Please note, this should be done before turning in Transcript request forms.
Step # 5 Click Add Colleges Once all three columns are complete,, AND you answered the question of how you are applying, click Add Colleges
Step # 5 Indicate Application Type: Common App or Non-Common App? Answer the question, “Applying via the Common App?”. 1. Click Unknown 2. Use drop down arrow to answer the question for each college 3. Click update

Submission Symbols This symbol indicates that the college does not accept electronic transcripts. Your materials will be mailed via US Postal Service This symbol indicates that your college accepts the Common Application. Your materials will be sent electronically. This symbol indicates that your college accepts electronic transcripts. Your materials will be sent electronically.

Return Transcript Request Form to Counseling Department Step # 7
Return Transcript Request Form Please note that we require a minimum of 10 school days to process your transcript request. The clock does not start until you turn in the paper request form! Each section of form must be completed Most Important Section. Enter the following information: 1.Circle Common App, Non- Common App or Scholarship 2.College name 3.College address 4.Due Date 5.Check box for materials required 6.Initial statement that applies

Transcript Request Status “Mailed” column refers to the Counselor’s responsibility of mailing your transcript Pending means transcript has not been sent yet. Be sure allow 10 school days for transcripts to be sent Mailed status currently says “pending”
Transcript Request Status Date transcript was mailed IMPORTANT! The date from which you submit the paper transcript request form is the date when we will begin counting 10 school days. H owever, if you are applying via the Common App, you must first add the college to your Common Application account before returning the transcript request form. The system will not allow us to send your transcript unless it is added in your Common App account.
