5. WHO IS REQUIRED TO REGISTER? Institutions providing, or offering to provide training that:  is 40 hours or longer in duration and  is $1,000 or more in tuition and  is career related A institution must register with PCTIA before providing or offering to provide (or advertise) training in British Columbia

8. BASIC EDUCATION STANDARDS FOR A REGISTERED INSTITUTION To be registered in BC, an institution must be able to demonstrate it has: 1.A mission statement 2.Adequate financial capacity to meet its obligations 3.A qualified on-site administrator and a Senior Educational Administrator

9. 4.Complete student records and instructor files 5.Policies as listed in PCTIA Bylaws and provided to students prior to signing a student contract. Samples are available on the PCTIA website Samples 6.Instructors with a degree, diploma or certificate related to the career field in which they teach and a minimum of 24 months of full-time occupational experience in their career field OR 10 years of experience in the field of study BASIC EDUCATION STANDARDS FOR A REGISTERED INSTITUTION
