2. The Nazca Lines are located on over 52 miles of Peruvian desert and were discovered accidentally from an airplane in flight in 1927. Scratched/dug on the surface of the desert ground between several hundreds of years ago Are a great mystery because of their quantity, nature, and size. Hundreds of individual figures including simple lines, geometric shapes, hummingbirds, spiders, monkeys, fish, dog, sharks or whales, llamas, lizards, and an astronaut stand out. Diverse scientific theories have been placed on these lines….some only explain its possible construction associated to extraterrestrial beings. Others say they were used by the farmers to know and control the meteorological cycles. Others says there is a possible religious significance Discovered accidentally from an airplane in flight in 1927. By the end of the 1980's new lines were discovered. On the Pan-American Highway some observation towers can be found, which allow a limited vision of the lines. The only possible way to appreciate them in all their magnitude, given their gigantic size, is flying over the area. There are flights everyday, several times a day from Nasca or Lima.
