4. HUMAN RIGHTS
Human Rights are those rights which are inherent in our nature and without which we can’t live as human beings OR are basic rights which many societies believe that all people should have.

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood

6. Origin of Human Rights Concept
The origin of Human Rights concept is in the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).
The aim of this Declaration was to set basic minimum international standards for the protection of the rights and freedoms of the individual.
The fundamental nature of these provisions means that they are now widely regarded as forming a foundation of international law regarding human rights.

Sixty years after the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations, People in india are still tortured and ill-treated
West Bengal, Orissa, and Jammu & Kashmir are the worst affected human rights violation state in India
Institutional mechanisms failed to protect civil and political rights or ensure justice for victims.
A range of human rights violations occurred in Nandigram generated by the local police and in Orissa not less than 50 people were injured in the struggle carried out by farmers against their forceful eviction by the government supporting steel plant project.

12. Suggestions
Proper implementation of Laws and Regulations for protection of human rights
Spread Awareness regarding human rights by educating people.
Promote NGOs to help people.
