12 Body (Beginning) I am a sophomore at Washington High School in Savannah, Georgia. For my World Cultures class, I am working on a research paper and visual presentation about Columbia University, and I need more information. I have grown up hearing about your school since my older brother has always dreamed of attending. However, with his focusses elsewhere during high school, he failed to meet your freshman entrance requirements and hopes to later attend as a transfer student. Thus, I am in need of information from a different source.

13 Body (Middle) In my presentation, I'm taking on the role of a travel agent explaining why tourists should visit Columbia. It is my job as the group’s researcher to ask for and locate vital information on Columbia University. Due to the fact that your agency is in charge of school tours and admitting future students, it made sense to ask for information that you might hand out to visiting scholars. I would like to request that you send me any booklets, pamphlets or web-site addresses that you think would be helpful to my research. I would also appreciate any materials you have that are not being used actively. This will allow my group to compile a realistic brochure for our final project that will be committed to the goals you have as a school.

14 Body (Ending) Thank you in advance for considering my request. I would be happy to send you a copy of the finished brochure that my group compiles with your help. The information you provide will go a long way in making the visual display of our brochure informed and authentic. Sincerely, (signature) Nick Davis
