1. TMB and RAT Status Report Endcap Muon meeting @ OSU June 6, 2004 Martin von der Mey University of California, Los Angeles  Previous Status (OSU, April)  Update  Future Plans

2. 6/6/2004 CMS Endcap Muon meeting@CERN 2 TMB2004A and RAT2004A  Last meeting’s status:  TMB boards (32) were debugged.  RAT boards (32) were assembled, 1 debugged.  10 XC2V3000 mezzanine cards were produced for test beam.

3. 6/6/2004 CMS Endcap Muon meeting@CERN 3 TMB/RAT Hardware Update (April-May)  All 32 RAT boards were debugged.  Full-crate tests at OSU and Rice have been pretty successful.  Possible small firmware bug in TMB fake muon sequence to MPC (32 frames OK, 256 not)  Full Virtex-II order (XC2V4000) placed, 100/540 chips received.  New TMB Virtex-II mezz. card layout (PNPI).  Currently reviewing mezzanine card bids for production and assembly.

4. 6/6/2004 CMS Endcap Muon meeting@CERN 4 TMB/RAT Firmware Update (April-May)  RPC data readout simulated, debugged.  New RPC-related control and data registers.  Firmware updated for new FPGA pin-out.  Compiles without errors.  This fixes all previous problems.

5. 6/6/2004 CMS Endcap Muon meeting@CERN 5 TMB/RAT Testing Update (April-May)  Successful tests at UC FAST site:  New TMB firmware.  New feed-through backplane.  RAT module ALCT interface (timing changes).  Debugging updates to PCC software.  4 TMBs currently in use at X5A.  Parts shipped for RPC tests:  Rear card cage (from Wiener) arrived.  Shipped backplane that connects to RAT.  Shipped RPC Link Board-to-RAT cables (5x2m and 4x8m variants).

6. 6/6/2004 CMS Endcap Muon meeting@CERN 6 Future Plans I  TMB boards:  Ready to go into production pending successful beam test.  Mezzanine boards:  Components in hand except for Eproms.  Ready to go into pre-production pending successful beam test.  RAT modules can go right into production, but:  Need to see results with ALCTs and RPCs.  Need to test full pre-production backplane.  Need full crate mock-up (cable installation, strain relief, etc. issues).

7. 6/6/2004 CMS Endcap Muon meeting@CERN 7 Future Plans II  RPC→Link Board→RAT→TMB testing:  Link-to-RAT initial tests can be done with or without RPC chamber (connectivity test, send beam xing bits).  Cosmic ray tests of RPC→Link→RAT nearly as interesting as beam test.  A few new RPC-related TMB registers (need small update to PCC software).
