2 Why do our leaseholders need a forum? Julie and I are always on the end of the phone if you have questions or issues But - the same questions keep coming up – and it is clear that not all leaseholders really understand the terms of their lease We want to keep you informed about leasehold issues and the services provided by the Council We want to give you the opportunity to hear from our service providers and to speak directly to them

3 Cleaning Services Weekly Cleaning Weekly tasks Sweeping of internal corridors and stairs Mopping / washing internal floors as required Collecting rubbish around the bins

4 Cleaning Services Weekly cleaning Monthly tasks Sweeping bin areas, chute rooms Bin powder to chutes and bins Remove and beat entrance mats Clean balustrades and handrails Remove cobwebs from light fittings

5 Cleaning Services Weekly Cleaning Annual tasks Deep-clean all floors Bins, bin areas and chutes pressure-washed Internal walls washed to hand height

6 Cleaning Services Six-weekly cleaning Introduced during 2014 Senior Housing Management decision The communal walkways, steps & bin storage areas of our buildings are regularly cleaned and inspected by Council staff Minimal charge £15.24 p.a.

7 Cleaning Services There should be a cleaning rota displayed in your block, which gives details of the standards of cleaning you should expect. If the cleaning is not up to standard (or the cleaning rota is not displayed), please report this to the Cleaning Department.

8 Cleaning Services You can help us maintain shared areas and keep them safe by: reporting any repairs, vandalism, graffiti or fly-tipped rubbish to us not leaving belongings outside your flat dealing with your rubbish responsibly making sure you, your family, pets and visitors are considerate of others

9 Cleaning Service Charges Invoiced every six months Half of the annual charge – not representative of the current season Charges differ according to the block Need to have realistic expectations of the service Residents have a significant effect on what the cleaners can achieve in the given time

10 If you have issues For example: The cleaning has not been done for a number of weeks Please be aware that the cleaning is done 48 weeks per year, not 52 weeks There are areas which have been missed Please report this direct to the Cleaning Service Email: housingcleaning@dacorum.gov.ukhousingcleaning@dacorum.gov.uk Tel: 01442 228000 and say “Cleaning”
