“Thunder” Reading Check Directions: Answer by writing true or false. 1.Time Safari, Inc. offers hunting trips into the distant past. 2.Keith, a candidate for president, has dictatorial tendencies. 3.Eckels shows little fear of the giant dinosaur. 4.The hunters are unable to kill their prey. 5.By stepping on a butterfly, Eckels changes the course of history.

Analyzing “Thunder” 1.Complete #7-10 on page 514 2.TONE: Write down TWO adjectives you would use to describe the tone of the story (provide a passage or two that support the tone) 3.CHARACTERIZATION: What techniques does the author use to create the characters in this story? (remember the elements of direct and indirect characterization...see chapter 2 pages 84-85; PROVIDE EXAMPLES FROM TEXT) NOTE: Divide up recording responsibilities. Everyone should write the answer to AT LEAST one question. Use ONE paper for your group; turn in HW from last night and this assignment by the end of the period
